- Connect your Asus Zenfone 2 smartphone with PC via micro USB cable, and copy the ZIP file to the root directory of internal storage of the phone.
- Detach micro USB cable from the phone to make the notification for firmware update popped up on the status bar.
- Then click on the “System Update File Detected” option, and then follow steps to update the firmware.
- During the update process, please charge your phone with AC adaptor or ensure the phone has at least 15% battery life.

Solution 2:- Update the Phone to the Latest Firmware:

Follow these steps:-
Step 1:- Navigate the link to download the Latest firmware:
Step 2:- Download the ADB and fastboot drivers. Download the latest firmware and copy it onto your internal storage.
Step 3:- Then boot into the bootloader.
Step 4:- Now, download the recovery image and paste it into the ADB folder.
Step 5:- Next, type the following command:
fast boot flash recovery .img
Step 6:- Now, all you have to do is hold the “Power” button and the volume down button to boot into the installed recovery.
Step 7:- Remember that if you restart your phone after step 4, your old recovery(which does not work) will still be there.
Step 8:- Now select update from sd card and select the zip file of the latest firmware you downloaded.

Step 8:- Enter into recovery mode and then update your firmware by choosing the downloaded official_firmware.zip from the memory card and reboot your Device after successfully upgrading.
After performing all the above solutions, your issue is surely fixed.
